Star Fleet Driver Training Ltd
9 Wordsworth Court Sleaford Lincolnshire NG34 7JH
Any course must be carried out so that each driver has a minimum of seven hours contact time with the trainer, these seven hours can be split into two, three and a half hour sessions as long as the second session is started within twenty four hours of the first one finishing. This gives us the opportunity to run courses over two consecutive evenings.
It must be stressed that any driver who attends the first session but fails to attend the second session will not qualify for any hours towards their 35 hours Driver C.P.C. But will still be charged for the full seven hour course.
Each driver is required to do 35 hours training over a five year period, drivers who have recently passes their ‘C’ or ‘D’ test will automatically have their first 35 hours accredited to them and will need to start accumulating their next 35 hours when the first five year period expires.
Qualified drivers have acquired rights for the first 5 years, in this time they need to accumulate 35 hours of training in order to maintain their entitlement to drive professionally. Once they have been accredited with the 35 hours they will receive a drivers qualification card, similar to the photo ID part of a driving licence as proof of the training. Until they have completed the full 35 hours records will be kept by the individual trainers and by the DSA as proof that the training has been done.
Individuals accumulated training hours can be checked on the transport office website using the drivers unique driving licence number.
The training hours belong to the driver and not the employer even if the employer paid for the training.
For a course to qualify as Driver CPC Training it must be registered with JAUPT. A department of the Driving Standards Agency (DSA), only registered trainers are authorised to conduct the course and each course is specific to a registered training establishment. If you are booking onto a course make sure that it is a bona fide course and has a registration. number.
